7TH & Madison Cares Inc. is a small organization with a big vision. Founded in the mid-2010s by Tiffany T. Weems, the organization was born from a simple yet impactful idea: that individuals experiencing homelessness in Newark, New Jersey, could thrive if provided with stable housing, social support, and access to essential resources. Tiffany T. Weems, having witnessed the challenges faced by underserved communities firsthand, envisioned a community where no one has to face housing instability alone.

Today, 7TH & Madison Cares Inc. has grown into a movement dedicated to ending homelessness and creating pathways to self-sufficiency. Headquartered in Newark, where it all began, we are committed to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness across the New Jersey metropolitan area. Each day presents its own challenges, especially for marginalized and vulnerable individuals. We persevere, but we need broad support and the continued commitment of our friends and partners to sustain and expand our efforts.

Our mission is clear: to become a primary and essential resource for individuals experiencing homelessness in New Jersey. Through supportive programs, we aim to provide stable housing, access to health services, and case management focused on achieving long-term independence and well-being.

Our Programs and Initiatives

With passion and dedication, 7TH & Madison Cares Inc. offers a range of services designed to help individuals overcome barriers and build a path toward stability. Our programs focus on:

• Stable Housing: Helping individuals find and maintain affordable housing.
• Intensive Case Management: Providing guidance, support, and referrals to essential services.
• Pre-Tenancy Services: Supportive services provided to individuals before they move into housing. These services are aimed at preparing individuals, particularly those who may be at risk of homelessness or have disabilities, for a successful transition into stable housing. They focus on building the skills, resources, and knowledge necessary for individuals to secure and maintain housing independently.
• Housing Navigation: Our Housing Navigation services guide individuals through the often complex process of finding and securing stable, affordable housing. We assist with housing searches, application submissions, understanding tenant rights, and overcoming barriers that may affect eligibility. By providing personalized support and connecting clients with local resources, we ensure that each individual is empowered to achieve a safe, permanent home in their community.
• Support Brokerage: Supports Brokerage services are designed to help individuals coordinate and manage the support they need to live independently. Acting as a bridge between clients and available resources, our team assists with developing personalized support plans, navigating funding options, and coordinating services to ensure all aspects of an individual’s life are supported. We empower clients to make informed decisions about their care and services, enhancing their quality of life and fostering independence.
• Health and Wellness: Connecting individuals with healthcare resources and support.
• Skills and Financial Literacy: Offering workshops and resources to build financial stability and life skills.
